Bamboo forests cover a large extent of area in Mizoram. Around 57% of the geographical area of Mizoram is under Bamboo cover. It is very useful for many things, and is sent even outside Mizoram. Bamboo is used for constructing houses, for making household goods and furnitures. Mizoram has about 20 species of bamboo reported in different patches of the forest in the State.
